Indian Crossings is also the place to explore Indian Folk Lore during our seasonal "Lores & Legends" guided tour presentation. We were concerned about taking them at first because we didn't know how far off the beaten path they would take us or where we would end up. It need some trail signs but the options on trails are limitless.
We enjoy the carved tree stumps and are always hoping that more will appear. Some trails or park services may be closed this weekend so check with local authorities before heading out.

The ITC Corridor Trail also meets the trail near its eastern end, providing access north into the residential heart of Canton.

The eastern, "North Trail" follows the River Raisin. Early spring is NOT an ideal time to visit as it's usually really muddy. This trail is quite with wildlife and nice bridges too.
Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve.
I biked there in summer. Leashes are mandatory especially if you're approaching the main roads that the primary paths cross.
I have seen quite a few rabbits, squirrels, does as well as a buck or two. Sometimes I go on to the I-275 Metro Trail but at times I turn around at Haggerty Rd and then take the ITC Connector over to Flodin Park or Griffin Park.
Have been meaning to visit this location and very glad I did.
Kenwood Heritage Park is across the street from Kenwood Park and features numerous picnic shelters, playgrounds, and a sand volleyball court. A little muddy but well maintained bridges for low spots. It's a pleasant surprise to find it in the middle of a town of almost 100,000 people.

Indian Crossing Trails Park Loop is a 2.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Tecumseh, Michigan that features a lake and is good for all skill levels.
It would be nice to have road signs at each road crossing so you would know where you are - especially if you're new to this trail.
connect to I275 trail and a trail that heads north down high line right of way to Cherry Hill rd.
It is perfect for small wedding ceremonies. I don't want to say too much about this area because I want it all to myself!!!
Downloaded & printed a trail map so we know where all the divergent trails lead. Outer loop gives you 2.5 miles and smaller inner loops can add about a mile. Entrance/Exit at nice park with lots of shade to cool down after. more. There are beautiful bridges to cross the creek but none over roads so you will have to stop and cross a two lane road every mile or so. I was very happy when I finally went back to I-275 Trail.
The park is on the south side of North Boulevard, east of M-115. and I-275 Metro Trail north of Michigan Ave./US 12.

This trail is as described- very nice. one bad thing , the huge amount of dog landmines at the start of the trail by the fitness club. There is a small dam on the River Raisin at Standish Pond, at the north end of the Main and North trails.
But we have found a few great swimming holes for the doggies and let them play. Has some hills for added workout but not too difficult. crush stone trail nice scenery.

Indian Crossing Trails is a nice little park with some excellent sections along the River Raisin, although the North Trail, on the east side of the Raisin, was closed due to flooding when I was there 1/15/20. The City of Taylor has a large park named Heritage Park that features: ball diamonds, soccer fields, pavilions, grills, picnic tables, restrooms, playground, historic buildings, shops, catch and release fishing pond, 1/3 mile walking path, path system, old growth nature area, park benches, picnic area, playground, plus a petting farm. Nice trail for walking, running. Parking lots can be found in Heritage Park (Heritage Park Road west of Canton Center Road) near the western end of the trail, or mid-trail off Morton Taylor Road. to I-275 Metro Trail north of Michigan Ave./US 12.
